Nationally, shelters are in their third year of having too many animals and not enough adoptions. Spaying and neutering pets is critical. Our outreach program provides spay/neuter assistance to domestic violence survivors working with advocates at the Crystal Judson Family Justice Center and those living in sheltered homelessness at the Nativity House Apartments, the Nativity House Day Shelter, and the Tacoma Emergency Micro Shelters (site 4). Spay/neuter assistance is always needed and appreciated by the clients we help.

There is a great need for spay/neuter assistance by many more people in Pierce County. We are pleased to partner with Feisty Felines, a local non-profit and volunteer-run organization, to provide voucher assistance to those who qualify.

Feisty Felines’ transport service for pet cats provides an option to receive low-cost spay/neuter surgery at the Noah Center in Stanwood, WA.

The low cost spay ($90) and neuter ($70) includes the following:

  • Transport starting in Tacoma to/from the Noah Center in Stanwood, WA
  • Pre-Op Exam
  • General Anesthesia
  • Surgery by a licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
  • Tattoo on belly
  • Nail trim
  • Pain medication
  • Post-surgery snack upon waking
  • Microchip
